Hello and thanks for coming back.
Today we’re going to learn how to create cheap Facebook sponsored ads.
Those Facebook sponsored ads you see on your homepage when you surf Facebook are what I am referring to
Let’s get started:

What You need:
A Facebook fan page of 200 likes and more.
You can easily get 200 likes for your page by asking friends to like your page.
I am not going to talk about how to create  a fan page, I think it is very easy.

You also need a credit/debit card.
If you reside in Ghana, I’d advice you get a Visa debit card at Ecobank cos theirs is instant and works smoothly.
You get the card that very day and you’d be able to use it right after.
Make sure you ask for Visa Classic.
That is the type you can use for online shopping purposes.
If you go for Visa Electron, you’d only be able to withdraw money via atm and not be able to shop online.

Steps on how to create Facebook Sponsored Ads:
Log in to Facebook.
This is for pc users, I will talk about the mobile process at the end of this post.
At the homepage click on Create ad on your left side, on your pc.
If you’re struggling to locate it, that’s the place on your extreme left where you see Favourites, Messages, Ads manager etc
Look further down and you should see Create Ad.
Over there a list of Ad Campaigns will show up:

  • Boost your posts
Use the Page post engagement objective to boost your post.
  • Promote your Page
  • Send people to your website
  •  Increase conversions on your website
  • Get installs of your app
  •  Increase engagement in your app
  •  Raise attendance at your event

Select any, depending on what you want to achieve.
Suppose you want to promote your posts or article or video, click on Boost Posts.
But first, you have to draft that post on your fan page, be it a video or article or link to your website.

When you click on Boost posts, you will be directed to the list of posts on your fan page.
Choose the one you want to promote.
Mostly it should be the very first one since you just posted it.

You would see options of countries where you want your ads to be shown too. So for instance you want your ad to be displaced to Facebookers in Ghana or USa.
You just have to click on Ghana or Usa.
If you want it displayed to viewers from both countries choose both.
    From there, choose your budget.
You can choose a time frame for your ad so it stops running when the date is due, example 1st June 2016 to 1st July 2016.

Alternatively, you can choose to let it run without any time frame and when you are satisfied, you pause that particular ad. If you are on a tight budget, don’t accept the daily budget Facebook suggests for you.

You can edit the daily amount to spend to suit your budget. There is a minimum daily charge of $10 though; you will be notified about that.
If you are on a very tight budget, one trick is to select a less valuable currency instead of the dollar.
Selecting the South African Rand is not a bad idea, I use it often when I don’t want to spend too much.
The daily minimum expenditure for the Rand is also 10!
10 Rand a day is peanuts compared to $10.
Only that with $10, you are guaranteed more views. You can then set your daily budget to about 10 rand or more!

  • When you are done just place your ad.
Sometimes Facebook will approve your ad instantly.
Sometimes it takes few minutes or hours.
    Worse case scenario, one day.
  • An alternative way for mobile and even pc users to create Facebook sponsored ads is to go straight to to the Facebook fan page and post your link, picture, video, music or whatever stuff you want to promote.
Then click on Boost posts and follow instructions, that is it.
  • Facebook however has the right to decline your ad though, depending on their screening process.
Once your ad is declined, you would be notified about the problem so you correct it.
If your ad is approved, you should see it running on your fan page.
Facebook will give you all the statistics over there; number of views, likes etc.
For a more insightful statistics, click on ad manager on your left side of the home page.
There you should be able to see every stat about your ad and also edit, pause or delete it.
I hope this helps. If you have any question, don’t forget to use the comment section under this post.
